Prince of Wales gun case resolved

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Justin Seley of Craig was sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison for a federal firearms charge, Assistant United States Attorney Jack Schmidt said.

    Seley, 36 will also serve three years of supervised release in the sentence handed down by US District Court Judge Timothy Burgess.

    He was also ordered to serve 200 hours of community service.

    Among his assignments are coming up with a public service announcement to warn about the dangers of gun use.

    He pled guilty to one charge of possession of a short barreled rifle.

    Seley had been placed on probation for convictions on charges of assault in the third degree and burglary.

    Police allege they locate several guns in Seley's residence and a loaded gun in his vehicle near Craig.
