Washington, DC (ABC) - President Donald Trump amended his guidance to Americans on COVID-19 announcing at the White House that he is backing off on his push to re-open parts of the country by Easter.
ABC News Good Morning America interviewed the nation's top infectious disease doctor, Dr. Anthony Fauci. He said he had some intensive discussions with the President.
"We convinced him and he listened. We said the better part of valor would be to extend them until the end of April, when we think it would peak and start coming down."
Dr. Fauci said all the projections showed case numbers would likely rebound if they reopened the country prematurely.
