Vatican City (KINY) - Pope Francis delivered a message of hope from inside a mostly empty St. Peter's Basilica on Easter Sunday.
Pope Francis led Easter Sunday mass inside instead of the normal outside service in St. Peter's Square.
The Pope social distanced himself with a handful of clergy and nuns and live-streamed the message around the world.
The Pope also gave his annual bi-annual address to the city of Rome and to the world.
He said the European Union was at risk of collapse if it did not come together with a unified plan for recovery.
"It's vital that rivalries that existed before World War II do not regain force as a result of the pandemic," he added.
Pope Francis prayed for coronavirus victims.
