Police find assault suspect in woods

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A near three-hour search in the vicinity of Shell Simmons Drive last night turned up a man wanted for assault charges, Juneau Police said.

    Police said Phillip Sader, 39, of Dallas, Texas, had as many as 10 prior arrests on assault-related charges.  These included assaults on police officers.

    He is charged in Juneau with assault in the third degree.

    Police said the victim was injured but not hospitalized.

    Police said the suspect ran into a wooded area in the 1800 block of Shell Simmons and was arrested without incident after he was located about 9:30 pm Wednesday night.

    He was held at Lemon Creek Correctional to await a court appearance.
