PFD Education Raffle winners drawn

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The third annual drawing of the Permanent Fund Dividend Education Raffle was held in Juneau Wednesday.

    Four winners were drawn from 8,834 entries.

    This year's raffle produced $662,000 for education.

    As prescribed by law, 50 percent of the fund balance is allocated to supplemental education grants, 25 percent is allocated to the Education Endowment Fund, and 25 percent is allocated to the raffle fund.

    Of the raffle fund, the first prize is 8 percent of the raffle fund; the second prize is 4 percent; the third prize is 2 percent; the fourth prize is 1 percent. The total prize amount was $86,654.47.

    The remaining 85 percent of the raffle will increase the fund for future year prize money.

    Molly Larmie came in first and won $46,199.72

    Second place went to Rachael Carlson who won $23,099.86.

    Hillary Partlow placed third and won $11,579.93

    And in fourth place was Sarah Virnig and won $5,774.96

    The winning entries were drawn by Governor Mike Dunleavy, Fairbanks Senator Click Bishop, who sponsored the legislation establishing the raffle; Revenue Commissioner Lucinda Mahoney, and Department of Education and Early Development Commissioner Dr. Michael Johnson.
