Perseverance Theatre suspends live performances of Fun Home

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Perseverance Theatre is postponing all live performances of Fun Home given the recommendations of the CDC and Alaska Department of Health & Social Services in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you have already purchased tickets to Fun Home, you should receive an email regarding options available to you, and the box office will be reaching out to ticketholders in the coming weeks.

"We are exploring options to bring this show to you remotely, and are hoping to have Fun Home on our stage this fall. We will keep you abreast of updates as we have them," wrote Artistic Director Leslie Ishii and Managing Director Frank Delaney. "We are so proud of our talented Fun Home creative team, cast, and crew, and we remain committed to centering the important stories of these communities in the future. We are also proud of our successful 41st season."

About 50 percent of the group's revenue comes from ticket sales, which means suspending this show eliminates the income for the final, largest, and most expensive show after having already spent the cost of creating it.

"This situation seriously threatens the livelihoods of our talented staff, artists, and crew, and our existence as an organization,' the two wrote.
