Palin to serve a year in jail

Wasilla, Alaska (KINY) Track Palin, 29, will report to a halfway house by the end of the month.

Palin was arrested last week for allegedly hitting a woman on the head.  He had been accused of three attacks on people close to him over the past few years.

Anchorage District Court Judge David Wallace Wednesday ruled Palin had violated conditions of a plea agreement in an earlier case where he assaulted his father.  The sentence, in that case, allowed him to take part in therapeutic court, a program for veterans in Alaska.  If he had successfully completed the program the sentence would have been reduced from one year to 10 days.

It's possible that Palin could serve time behind bars but that is unlikely.  Palin served in the US Army and served one year in Iraq.
