Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau is dodging the COVID-19 bullet for the most part.
Hospital CEO Chuck Bill said as of Tuesday morning they had two COVID positive patients there and he figured one would be out of quarantine by the end of the day.
He attributes the low number in part to the work of Juneau's local government and community members adhering to guidelines to prevent a widespread outbreak. Even with the vaccine coming out, Bill says people still need to pay attention to those things.
He believes another big part of it is Juneau's isolation and the fact that travel was curtailed into Juneau. Bill called that the biggest factor.
