Officers respond to gunshots on Bresee St

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - On Wednesday around 7:30 p.m., Juneau Police Department officers responded to several calls about gunshots near Bresee Street in the valley.

    Another caller reported that they left a residence in the 3100 block of Bresee Street where there was a disturbance. They reported 24-year-old Matthew Costello was waving a gun around and after the caller left, they heard shots fired.

    When officers arrived they found several intoxicated people inside the residence, including Costello. Officers learned there had been an argument, after which Costello allegedly went outside and fired gunshots from a pistol.

    A pistol registered in Costello's name was discovered in the residence and shell casings were found outside.

    No injuries were reported in connection with this incident. Costello was arrested on two counts of misconduct involving a weapon and taken to jail. Bail is posted at $5000.
