Update: Nunapitchuk Prisoner shoots Officer, Troopers find suspect in Bethel

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Alaska State Troopers have arrested a Nunapitchuck man in the shooting of a Village Police Officer Tuesday at the village's public safety building.

    The suspect identified as 37 year Daris Larson escaped the holding facility following the shooting.

    Alaska State Troopers from Bethel responded to conduct a search, but they learned he had fled the village on a snowmachine and went to Bethel.   He was found there and arrested

    The Village Police Officer was medivaced to Bethel for treatment and is reportedly in stable condition.
