Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services has upped the total number of confirmed cases in the state.

The total count is now up to nine across the Last Frontier after one case was reported in Seward, and an additional two cases were diagnosed in Anchorage.

Previously, two cases in Anchorage and one in Ketchikan were reported.

According to Chief Medical Officer Anne Zink, all the new cases were travel-related, with the two cases in Anchorage being discovered in older individuals, while the Seward case was a younger person.

The state's coronavirus website will be updated tomorrow to reflect the increase.
