NTSB releases report on helicopter crash

    Skagway (KINY) The pilot was found to be at fault in a helicopter crash here two years ago.

    The National Transportation and Safety Board said Christopher Maggio, 66 choose to fly in poor weather.   They also claimed he put pressure on himself to continue flying that day.   The helicopter left a dog sledding camp near the Denver Glacier and crashed into a snowy mountain two miles northeast of the camp.

    The NTSB also faulted the Temsco's base manager who didn't cancel flights despite the ice conditions.  Maggio made six flights that day to the Alaska Icefield Expeditions to deliver mushers and dogs.

    Maggio had flown for the company for 25 years.    .
