Nome guide receives lifetime ban after plea

Nome, Alaska (KINY) - A Nome-based Master Guide has received a lifetime revocation of his guide license after a plea agreement with the Alaska Office of Special Prosecutions.

On Jan. 3, Master Guide Brian Simpson, 57, was sentenced in Nome District Court to a lifetime revocation of his license, 60 days in jail with 60 days suspended, $65,000 in fines with $30,000 suspended, $2,600 in restitution, and one year of probation.
