Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - For the third day in a row Juneau school children will not return to classes following the holiday break. Schools will be closed again Wednesday, according to School District Chief of Staff Kristen Bartlett.
After evaluating conditions at schools and in neighborhoods across the district, Bartlett said it was determined it is not safe for students and staff to travel to and from school. She said side roads and parking lots are still in dangerous condition.
All classes, activities, RALLY, and after-school programs are canceled, she said, and there will be no distance delivery or on classes.

Meanwhile, repair and clean-up work continue after flooding at Riverbend Elementary School An update will come Wednesday about the plan for reopening the school, according to Bartlett. She said they remain hopeful that they can start back on Thursday.
