New Juneau-Douglas City Museum Director Named

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Beth Weigel was named the new director of the Juneau-Douglas City Museum.

    Weigel was Juneau Public Libraries Program Coordinator since September 2013. She takes over for Museum Director Jane Lindsey who retires after 18 years

    of service to the museum.


    Weigel was credited with bringing in many authors and other grand funded programs to the Juneau library, worked closely with the libraries' youth services and built a number of positive relationships locally, in the state, and around the country.


    Prior to working for the library, Weigel was Executive Director for Discovery Southeast. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Denver and  has been an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Alaska Southeast for 18 years.
