Murder suspect subject of search by Fairbanks Police

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - One person was shot to death and another injured in Fairbanks Tuesday evening. Police are searching for the assailant.

    Fairbanks Police report the call came in just before 9:30 saying that the man and woman had been shot in an apartment on Slater Street.

    The woman told police she had been shot in both legs and was currently in the bathroom.  When police responded they found the woman and man locked inside the bathroom

    The man had been shot in the upper chest.  He was unresponsive and later pronounced dead.  He's identified as 39-year-old Lee Kalloch.

    Police say in a release that it was evident someone had shot through the bathroom door.  Numerous spent nine-millimeter casings were located in the apartment.

    The woman identified the suspect as 22-year-old Takodah Veach left the scene in a vehicle which was located later in an area off of Farmers Loop Road.
