More protests planned today over coronavirus lockdown

Washington, DC (ABC) - The protests will target coronavirus restrictions imposed by governors around the nation.

ABC reported small protests have sprouted up in various states against the lockdown orders.

Most express legitimate fears of an uncertain public.

John Cohen, former official at the Department of Homeland Security, said these protests are being seized upon by anti-government extremists.

"The real danger is that anti-government extremists will incite violence targeting government officials who enforce the public health restrictions," he added.

Cohen said Russian intelligence has also been amplifying these messages to instigate anger and fear in the United States.
