Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Despite the nasty weather and the omicron variant it appears all systems are go for a return to school in Juneau following the holiday break.
Superintendent Dr. Bridget Weiss said they plan is to return to in-person instruction Monday. Staff returned Thursday for two days of in-service work.
There's a chance weather might dictate otherwise. She said they are a little worried about the forecast for the weekend which calls for lots of snow. The superintendent said she'll set her alarm for four Monday morning and get in contact with road crews and the school bus company and make a final decision on the possible need for a snow day.
So Dr. Weiss said to pay attention Monday morning. She has only called for one snow day during her tenure and it came during the first week on the job.
