Ottowa, Canada (KINY) - Cruise Industry News said Canada has delayed the start of the cruise ship season until July.
The question is how will this impact Alaska's cruise season?
The ban impacts all cruise ships and ferries that carry more than 500 people, including crew.
The ban lasts through June.
The report said this move will affect the key Alaska cruise season, where the vast majority of operators fly a foreign flag and are thus required to call at a non-U.S. port.
Kirby Day, Director of Shore Operations at Princess Cruises said they are working through the Vancouver and Victoria issues.
He said it is a tremendously fluid situation since so many ships start and end their cruises in Vancouver.
Day promised further details when available.
