Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The shooting reportedly happened at a residence in the 1000 block of Coogan Drive.
A grand jury in Juneau has handed down a seven-count indictment against 27-year-old Micah Nelson in relation to a Thanksgiving Day shooting in the area of Lemon Creek.
Nelson is facing charges of Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, three charges of Assault in the Third Degree, and two charges of Misconduct Involving a Weapon in the Third Degree.
The shooting reportedly happened at a residence in the 1000 block of Coogan Drive. The victim of the shooting was identified as 46-year-old Geoffrey Alter. He sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder but was treated at the hospital.
Juneau Police said a tip from the public led them to a home in the 10000-block of Glacier Highway where Nelson was located.
Juneau Police Department Lt. Krag Campbell said police surrounded the home, got in contact with the residents inside, and were able to arrest Nelson without further incident.
Nelson had eluded capture earlier near DZ Middle School.
