Medical Emergency at Cabin leads to Search and Rescue

    Juneau, AK (KINY) - According to a Trooper dispatch report, the Coast Guard requested assistance early Wednesday morning to help transport a 65-year-old man to the hospital for a medical emergency.

    The man was at the US Forest Services John Muir Cabin, which is on the Auke Nu trail in Juneau.

    Juneau based Troopers coordinated with Capital City Fire and Rescue and the Juneau Snowmobile Club to get the man help. About four hours after the request was sent out, help arrived at the cabin. Soon after the searchers returned from teh field with the man, who was then loaded into a waiting CCFR ambulance and transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital. Troopers wanted to commend and the thank those searchers with CCFR and JSC for their efforts.
