Meat prices rise across nation

Washington, D.C. (ABC) - The price of meat has spiked amid production problems at meat and poultry plants.

Officials said thousands of workers at these plants have tested positive for COVID-19 and some have died.

In Cincinnati, the prices of ground beef rose to $6.59 and now averages $9.49 in Ohio.

Many supermarkets do not have meat to sell customers.

Some have placed a limit on the amount of ground beef sold to individual customers.

Suppliers said the meat prices should drop by July 4th.
