McConnell supports Murkowski

Washington, DC, (KINY) Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told the Associated Press that nobody is going to beat Lisa Murkowski in Alaska.

Murkowski faces a reprimand or other sanctions from the Alaska Republican Party for failure to support Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the US Supreme Court.

McConnell disputed President Donald Trumps prediction that Alaskans will never forgive Murkowski for her stance.  The President said Murkowski will never recover politically after bucking her party.

McConnell pointed out Murkowski lost the Republican primary but still won re-election as a write-in candidate during the 2010 election.

McConnell went on to state that Murkowski has been strong for Alaska and he is proud that she is in the Republican conference.
