Man sentenced for stabbing two people

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Kurtis Detemple, 26, pled guilty to assault in the second degree while one count of assault in the third degree was dismissed by the court.

    Detemple was sentenced to six years in prison by Superior Court Judge Philip Pallenberg.

    Detemple allegedly got into a dispute over a pair of stolen shoes with two men in the Lemon Creek neighborhood.  Juneau Police said one man was cut in the arm.  He was transported to Seattle for treatment of the non-life threatening injury.  The second victim suffered a minor head injury and was treated and released at Bartlett Regional Hospital.
