Man indicted for murder of girlfriend and killing of dog in Kotlik

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A Kotlik man accused of murdering his girlfriend and killing the family dog has been indicted by a grand jury in Bethel.

    It's alleged that 44-year-old Pus Teeluk stabbed and killed the dog and then strangled Marie Unok on the morning of March 10 in Kotlik.

    Teeluk was indicted on one count of murder in the first degree, two counts of murder in the second degree, and one count of cruelty to animals.  Bail was set at $250,000.

    A release from the Alaska Department of Law says Teeluk faces a sentence of up to 99 years in prison if convicted at trial.
