Man Flees Soldotna Troopers, Later Caught with Community Assistance

    Juneau, AK (KINY) - A man in Soldotna tried to flee police, but was eventually caught through efforts across the Kenai Peninsula.

    Occurring on April 9th, Soldotna Troopers got a report of suspicious vehicles in the Sports Lake Road area. When one of those vehicles was found, troopers attempted to stop it to further investigate. However, the driver failed to stop and ran his vehicle off the roadway. The man then fled on foot and Troopers were unable to make contact.

    According to dispatch reports, subsequent investigation and the cooperative efforts from Kenai Peninsula citizens led to the eventual arrest. The man's name was Dagnall Leigh Moran-Tracy, who is 32-years-old and of Soldotna. He was caught on April 15th and charged with Failure to Stop At Direction Of Peace Officer, Reckless Driving, and Improper Use of Evidence of Registration.

    Moran-Tracey was sent to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility where he was remanded on those charges as well as five outstanding arrest warrants with a total bail of $100,000. He was held without bail though, due to new felony charges.

    Any charges reported are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
