Man cleared of killing bear

Kake, Alaska (KINY) Alaska Wildlife Troopers said Burt Jackson, 45, was defending his life or property.

Alaska Wildlife Troopers said the investigation found Jackson legitimately and legally killed the black bear.  They did cite him for failure to salvage the hide, skull, and claws of the bear as required by law.

Jackson will appear in court in Petersburg at a future date to answer the charge.
