Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Nicholas Morgan faces charges of robbery in the first-degree, assault in the third degree and theft in the second-degree for a January robbery in the 5200 block of Glacier Highway.
Police said Morgan used a tire iron, scared the clerk out of the store, chased him outside, then returned to the unmanned store, used the tool to open two cash registers, and steal $889 from the store on Jan. 17.
The store clerk was not hurt in the incident. He ran to a nearby residence and called 911.
The store manager, after he reviewed videotape of the incident, said the clothing worn by the suspect was similar to clothes worn by a customer who came into the store earlier in the day.
Police were able to tie a black Under Armour hoodie used in the robbery to the suspect.
The charging document said Morgan had several previous arrests.
