Man sent to prison for brutal attack

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) Ryan Williams, 30, received a prison term for assaulting a 29-year-old female last November 30.

    Williams was convicted of assault charges and was sentenced to six years in prison, with two years suspended.  He will also serve five years probation.

    Police responded to the report of a disturbance in the 3600 block of Amalga Street, and found the female suffering from 'substantial injuries to her head and face.  They said the assault was part of a domestic dispute.

    While the woman was hospitalized, Williams was charged with six counts that included first-degree assault, third-degree assault, and physical evidence.

    Juneau Police said alcohol was a factor in the case.
