Local airline expands

    Sitka, Alaska (KINY) Harris air recently began twice a day flights from Juneau to Haines.

    Company President Scott Harris said they also have added jobs in Juneau and plan to hire more people closer to summer  He added the schedule could also be changing as they learn customers and demand.  "The plan is to be determined.  We decided to run up to Haines and as we speak the overall schedule is morphing and changing a little bit.

    They run two flights per day at present but the schedule could be revised should passenger demand warrant it.  The company is based out of the Sitka airport.

    Right now flights run six days per week at $120 per flight.  Harris also hopes to have an office at the Haines airport.  He is also considering flights to Skagway.
