Kotzebue, Alaska (KINY) - The dog, named Ash, was found outside the fire department on July 16.

KTUU News reported Kotzebue Police are searching for the person who killed a dog that belonged to the Kotzebue Fire Department.

The Fire Department has set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for a reward.  Ash was taken in by the fire department two years ago as a puppy after they found her outside in the middle of winter.

The page said firefighters and EMT's adopted her to get her out of the arctic cold, and to keep her from being euthanized as a stray.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kotzebue Police Department at (907) 442-3351.
