Kiehl talks about Senate organization on Action Line

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau Senator-elect Jesse Kiehl was asked about his committee assignments with the minority while a guest on Action Line Tuesday.

He says his caucus has met and have put a list together.  Kiehl says there are one or two question marks  that his caucus leadership is talking to the majority caucus about.  So he begged off on further comment until the press release comes out on Wednesday.  "I can't let you know, but I'm happy with my committee assignments.  I think they'll be good spots, well positioned to work on both statewide issues  and stuff of particular focus in Southeast."

Host Pete Carran asked if there was anything related to keeping track of dollars in an attempt to find out if one of Kiehl's committee assignments was Finance.  Kiehl responded, "Everything's related to keeping track of dollars."

Kiehl will serve in the Democratic Minority when the 31st Alaska Legislature convenes next month.  He said they spent some time trying to organize a bi-partisan group.  "There was some excellent conversations.  Unfortunately, it didn't come together which is too bad."
