Ketchikan reports new resident case of COVID-19

    Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) - A local health clinic reported another positive test result for COVID-19 to bring the cumulative local count to 40 cases.

    The Ketchikan Emergency Operations Center reported 36 of the 40 cases are of individuals who live or stay in Ketchikan.

    There are six active cases and 30 patients have recovered.

    The individual is asymptomatic, has been notified of his positive test result, and has been directed to isolate.

    The source of how the virus was contracted is under investigation.
