Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) - Authorities said a shipment that contained 122 grams of suspected heroin and 50 suspected 30mg oxycodone pills were intercepted en route to Ketchikan, and one arrest was made.
Kevin Szal, 40, of California was charged with two counts of attempted misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree.
Ketchikan Police said Szal attempted to posses the heroin and oxycodone pills and planned to distribute them in the community.
Szal was booked into the Ketchikan Correctional Center without bail to await a court appearance.
Authorities said the Alaska State Trooper Drug Detection K9 unit also contributed to the bust.
Authorities added the investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.
