Ketchikan Health clinic to close for two days

    Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) - PeaceHealth Medical Group announced clinics are closed today and Tuesday, March 24 after two caregivers who work there tested positive for COVID-19.

    Ketchikan has reported six cases of the virus in recent days. 

    The clinic will undergo thorough disinfection through Tuesday.

    PeaceHealth and Ketchikan Public Health are conducting a thorough investigation into these cases.

    PeaceHealth Medical Group said it is taking swift measures to mitigate the spread of the virus by conducting appropriate tests and employee monitoring.

    All patients affected by the clinic closure on Monday and Tuesday will be contacted by phone to hold their appointment via telemedicine or reschedule for a later date.

    Patients with health care concerns may call any PeaceHealth Clinic number to receive assistance. As always, patients with life-threatening conditions are encouraged to call 911 or to go immediately to the ER.
