Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) - A Ketchikan grand jury indicted two young adults and one juvenile on multiple charges Thursday for the death of 80-year-old Lincoln Peratrovich on Mar. 21 in the community of Klawock on Prince of Wales Island, 56 miles from Ketchikan.
22-year-old Moses Scott Blanchard faces charges of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, manslaughter, and first-degree burglary.
21-year-old Blaise Andrew Dilts faces charges of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, manslaughter, and first-degree burglary.
17-year-old Gonzalo Sanchez faces charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter, and first-degree burglary.
Charges in these cases are only accusations of a crime and not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a jury at trial.
According to the investigation, comments on a Facebook post about the victim appeared to encourage violence against Peratrovich.
On Mar. 21, past 1 am, the door to Peratrovich’s trailer was broken in.
The three reportedly entered and assaulted Peratrovich, while he was in bed.
Sanchez was arraigned this morning.
Dilts and Blanchard are scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in Superior Court in Ketchikan.
All the defendants could face up to 99 years in custody as a maximum sentence.
All are in custody and held on the same bail amounts- $500,000 100 percent cash performance and $100,000 appearance bail with 10 percent to post.
