Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Preliminary figures indicate the Juneau School District is at or possibly slight above its projected enrollment.
Interim Superintendent Dr. Bridget Weiss calls that super good news. The projection is 4,463 students.
Dr. Weiss said they should know much better in a couple of weeks where they are at on enrollment. The official count will be submitted to the state in October. The district's base student allocation will be distributed by the state based on that number.
The amount per student is just shy of $6,000, according to Dr. Weiss, who was a guest on Action Line Thursday.
Classes started on Monday.
