Juneau residents urged to participate in dog park poll

Juneau, ALASKA (KINY) - The CBJ Parks and Recreation Department is seeking community input on off leash dog areas and dog parks via an online poll.

A department press release says the input will help determine community support for such parks and where the need for fenced off-leash areas is the greatest.

The department currently maintains a fenced dog park at Cope Park and an informal park at Lena Park, according to the release.

The effort is part of the department's master planning process which is scheduled to wrap up next year.  The plan will make recommendations for the next 10 to 20 years of parks and recreation in Juneau.
