Juneau Police Investigating Possible Gun Shot Accident

    Juneau, AK (KINY) - On Saturday, in the early hours of the morning, JPD were called about a woman being shot from a residence in the 400 block of Harris Street in downtown Juneau.

    According to a Police issued press release, JPD arrived at the residence to find that a 27-year-old female who had a gunshot wound to her right thigh. Capital City Fire & Rescued assisted officers and transported the woman to the hospital. She sustained serious injuries to her leg, but was in stable condition.

    The case is still under investigation, but so far it seems that the discharge of the firearm was unintentional and self-inflicted. Several firearms were found inside the home and were seized by police, but they are currently unaware which specific firearm was used in the shooting.
