Juneau Police adds fourth new officer

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Another new Juneau Police officer was scheduled to be sworn in during a ceremony Wednesday afternoon.

    That word coming from Chief Ed Mercer on Action Line Wednesday.  "I'm proud to say that within this month this will be our fourth hire for police officer.  Three are local individuals including Mattie Rilelly who was scheduled to be sworn in  Wednesday.

    The chief says she will join the other two recruits at the Public Safety Academy in Sitka beginning this weekend.

    The other new officer was a lateral hire from Salt Like City, Utah, where he served for 20 years.
