Juneau man charged with sexual abuse of a minor

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau Police have arrested a man on charges of sexual abuse of a minor.

Lieutenant Krag Campbell says they received the report on the afternoon of March 5 from a person reporting they had recently learned that 28-year-old Matthew Aaron Dundore of Juneau had sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl.

The person told police the incident occurred on or about February 12 of this year while Dundore and the girl were both in Anchorage.

Following interviews with the victim and Dundore,  detectives applied for an arrest warrant for Dundore through the Anchorage court which was later granted, according to the lieutenant.

Dundore turned himself in at the Juneau Police Station Wednesday.  He was taken to jail and held on two counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the first degree, unclassified felonies.

An Anchorage Grand Jury indicted Dundore on those charges Thursday.

    Bail was set at $50,000.
