Juneau has 1 new non-resident COVID-19 case

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reports one new non-resident case of COVID-19 in Juneau.

    The state reported another non-resident case for Juneau on July 4, bringing the total to six non-residents.

    According to the Division of Public Health, both individuals are visitors to Juneau. The non-resident case today is part of 30 new cases statewide – 28 Alaska residents and two non-residents.

    Of Juneau’s six non-resident cases, one is active and the rest are recovered. Of Juneau’s 45 resident cases, one is active, 42 have recovered, and two are deceased.

    How Juneau’s four most recent resident COVID-19 cases acquired the virus is still under investigation.

    Alaska has had 1,166 cumulative resident cases – 598 are active – and a total of 237 non-resident cases of COVID-19.
