Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Juneau Gun Club is bringing back their annual Thanksgiving turkey shoot.

Mark Kappler, treasurer for Juneau Gun Club, gave the details.

"Annual Thanksgiving turkey shoot this year is Saturday, November 19th. It's from 10 am to 3 pm and it's at the Juneau Gun Club and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game Hunter Education facility. That's at 5670 Montana Creek Road."

Kappler said how to win prizes.

"There are several activities that you can do; archery, rifle, pistol, shotgun, with clay target. There's no admission fee, it's free, and open to the public. Then you have events within those activities that you get to try your skill at hitting a bull's eye or breaking a clay target which could win you a turkey. There are also games of chance that you don't even need to shoot but you can pay a small entry fee and get in the games of chance and if you're the lucky winner you'll walk away with a turkey. Right now we have 60 turkeys to give away and 40 gift cards."

Kappler said who hosts the event.

"The event is hosted by Juneau Gun Club, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game building, Juneau Shooting Sports Foundation, and the Juneau Archery Club."
