The Juneau Douglas Crimson Bears are your 2018 Capital City Classic champs.

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Juneau Douglas boys' basketball team won it all at their 2018 Capital City Classic tournament, beating Maine-Endwell of New York 66-61 on Saturday night.

Israel Yadao, who scored 11 points, was named as MVP after the game. His playing was on-fire all tournament long and it included a buzzer-beating 3-pointer during JDHS's win against Lathrop on Friday. The Crimson Bears won that game 69-45. They beat Barrow on Friday 68-63.

All the JDHS starters in the Maine-Endwell game were in double digits as Cooper Kriegmont and Philip Gonzales each finished with 14 points, while Brock McCormick added 12 points. Both Yadao and Krishant Samtani ended the game with 11 points. Austin McCurley had a three-pointer at the end of the first half.

The big mystery of the night was free-throws, with only Yadao going 6-of-6 from the line.

The Crimson Bears will next face Colony on Jan. 10 at home.

The East Anchorage Thunderbirds beat the Lady Crimson Bears 57-55 in the girls' championship game.
