Juneau Chamber calls for veto if Juneau Access funding is diverted in capital budget

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The capital budget plan the Legislature will work on when it convenes itself into special session Thursday reportedly includes a provision in the House plan for Juneau Access funds.

The Juneau Chamber of Commerce has urged the Legislature and Governor to preserve those funds.

Executive Director Craig Dahl President Eric Eriksen talked about that matter while a guest on Action Line today (Tuesday).  Dahl commenting initially.
Dahl said they figure about half of the funding may be at risk.  They've heard it will be moved into the northern Lynn Canal area. "Quite frankly,I  think our best hope is that the Governor will exercise his authority for line item veto and preserve that."

The House and Senate plans for the capital budget has not been shared with members at large or the public at last report.  One source tells us details will be released tomorrow.  (Wednesday)
