Juneau Assembly acts on COVID mitigation measures

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Juneau Assembly Monday night approved COVID-19 mitigation strategies that are set to sunset July 31.

They include an extension of the mask mandate and power to the manager’s office to determine risk level.

Members also looked at a testing mandate for non-vaccinated travelers to Juneau, but the emergency ordinance failed on a 6 to 2 vote.

As a result, the current testing mandate will expire on May 1 as planned and no new one will replace it
