Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Both of the new, active cases were reported in the City & Borough of Juneau on Tuesday morning.
According to CBJ spokesperson Lisa Phu, both cases are a result of secondary transmission, or being in close contact with somebody else who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Bartlett Regional Hospital's Katie Bausler confirmed that the cases originated out of Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Alaska went from 381 to 383.
The daily report from the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services said 334 people have recovered, 38 have been hospitalized, and 10 people have died from the disease.
Anchorage continued to have the most cases with 194, the Fairbanks North Star Borough 85, the Kenai Peninsula 25, Juneau 29, Matanuska-Susitna Borough 21, and Ketchikan 16 cases.
