Judge denies request for preliminary injunction

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau Superior Court Judge Phillip Pallenberg denied the Alaska Legislative Council's request for a preliminary injunction against Governor Dunleavy's appointees.

Judge Pallenberg cited a lack of evidence presented by the Legislative Council. The council alleged that allowing Governor Dunleavy's appointments to continue to work, without Legislature confirmation, would cause "irreparable harm" to the authority of the Legislature.

The Legislature failed to confirm the appointments during the last session.
