JPD plans holiday weekend operation

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Extra officers will be on hand to increase patrols on the Memorial Day weekend in an effort to keep Juneau safe.

Juneau Police said the extra patrols will focus on traffic safety, DUI enforcement, and public safety out the road.

The Mobile Incident Command vehicle will be staffed and deployed out the road Saturday afternoon through Monday morning.

Police encourage motorists to wear seatbelts, observe the speed limit, avoid distracted driving, and call if they need a safe and sober ride home.
