JPD issues Distinguished Service Awards

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Distinguished service awards were presented to Juneau Police Department employees during last weekend's annual banquet.

    Police Chief Ed Mercer talked about the awards while a guest on Action Line.

    Patty Rumfelt, the chief's right-hand person in the department, was named Civilian of the Year.

    Lieutenant Krag Campbell was honored as Leader of the Year.

    Kirt Stage-Harvey was named Officer of the Year.

    The Dispatcher of the Year is Tonya Kurt.

    The chief also presented certificates and pins to eleven employees who met milestones of 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years of service during the banquet.
